Hey guys, happy April! I'm so sorry for this update being a day late--I have no excuse except that I've literally been so busy this week that I failed to realize yesterday was Thursday already! XD; Here's the event card for April:

Event Cards: event-april2016

MASTERED DECKS: Tettsui (Andrea)

LEVEL UPS: ( 1-2 ) scott

NEW DECKS: Just a few this week! As I've stated before, with donations having slowed down decks may be a bit on the slow side. Hopefully I'll find some ways to resolve that, but we'll get to that more later in the update! If you guys are interested in trading pulls, visit this thread at the trading forum!

Everyone is welcome to take 3 cards from the decks above, no more than 1 per deck.
Donators this week, take 1 card of choice from any deck you donated.
RULES: Leave a comment with what you've taken, and do not take any cards after this update has passed. If I see you have taken cards without commenting or taken cards after the cut-off date I will ask you to remove them.

GAMES: Play Weekly Games + Rotational Set A + Monthly Games this week at the Arcade! Don't forget to turn in your March Trade Points at the Trade Exchange, new multipliers are up for April.

JUMP SHOP: The Point Exchange has been updated with new bundles for the month!

TCG Status Update

As I've mentioned in quite a few updates, this TCG has been pretty quiet the past few months! I can't lie: as an owner, it's really difficult to stay motivated and work on something weekly when activity dies down, especially when you've been doing it as long as I have. There are a lot of factors going into that: my negligence, traders dropping out of the TCG (or the scene altogether), and just loss of interest as this TCG is now reaching it's third year in activity. (Crazy!) I usually anticipate hits to activity after the holidays pass, but this year has been particularly heavy and I'm trying to figure out what to do moving forward! As someone who's ceased all activity in the TCGs I participate in myself, it's hard to gauge what the TCG community itself has been like in the past few months, but just looking through my affiliates speaks volumes, haha.

I don't know how much interest remains for Champion, or how much I can do to "invigorate" existing players or pull in new ones, but I'll probably be working on a survey in the coming weeks to gauge what I can do to help liven this place up a little bit. Summer is on its way, which is usually when TCG activity is at it's highest, so I remain optimistic--but it'd be nice to have some freshened up/new things in store for when those months do roll around. :)

If anyone has some thoughts on this right now, I'd love to hear them in the comments! Believe me when I say my thinking has gone dramatically in many ways: Have we hit the end of our run with Champion, and should I close it? Should I consider expanding Champion into a general anime character TCG, as many of it's features could still work for anime outside of Shounen Jump? I honestly think that in a lot of ways we've hit a roadblock with decks and content that traders remain interested in...but I dunno! This TCG has been through quite an evolution in the nearly 3 years it's been around, and I'm pretty open minded into doing what I need to make it work, before retiring it completely.

Closing Thoughts ♡

This is probably going to be another weird transitional phase for Champion, no matter which direction we go in, so please hang tight. Always appreciate those of you who are still along for the ride! :3 And as always, happy trading everyone!
